Batter up! The inaugural season of the Mustard Nation Professional Baseball League gets under way on June 14, 1917 in Capitol Park. The Bastards, playing for MN, swept their NCFA opponents from the field. Shown in the top of the first, from left to right: Umpire Lenda Reckord, Catcher Gnarley "Mustard' Grinder and, at bat for the first (and last) time in his career, NCFA right fielder Duckbill "I Dropped The Ball" Pierzs.

Hot dog! With a record winning game safely put away, Mustard Nation citizens gather round a hot dog vendor just outside Capitol Park. The defeat of the NCFA pros adds additional relish to the savor of victory.
